Establishment of Jubilee Catholic Secondary School
Jubilee Catholic Secondary School (JCSS)is a Catholic Agency School and is owned by the Archdiocese of Port Moresby. As an associate school of the Institute of the Brothers of Christian Schools (De La Salle Brothers) of the District of Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, and recently, Tonga. The school follows the charism of St. John Baptist De La Salle in the education of young people.
The school is highly sought after by students and parents alike who desire quality and well-rounded holistic education for themselves and their children.
JCSS was commissioned by PNG Teaching Service in 1999.
In the year 2000, a total of 105 students selected from De La Salle Bomana and Marianville High School enrolled in the first three grade 11 classes. On September 14, 2000, the then Prime Minister of PNG Sir Mekere Morauta officially opened the school which changed its name to Jubilee Catholic Secondary since it was established in the year 2000, the celebration of the Great Jubilee of the universal Christian Church.
The founding principal Br Denis Loft, a De La Salle Brother, assisted significantly by Ms Marie Hardwick, deputy principal, four subject teachers and a resilient batch of pioneer students laid the foundation for future generations. Mrs Bernadette Ove took over as principal in 2001 and 2020 is her final year of being a principal after 20 years in Jubilee.

In 2002, the first two classes of grade 9 students were enrolled and by the following year, the school fulfilled its secondary school status by having classes from grades 9 to 12. The year 2020 is indeed a very significant year because we are celebrating 21 years of continuous Lasallian Catholic Education of the touching hearts and transforming lives of young Papua New Guineans
Our Logo
The official logo of the school is patterned after the logo the Jubilee year 2000 consisting of the cross to represent Christ, with the Lasallian Star representing Mary Our Lady of the Star, Queen, and Mother of the Christian Schools, at the top, the motto of the school DEO DUCE or God is Leader on the left and right and the letter CSS at the bottom
